Armchair DJ? Why Not Do It With a Flourish?

Armchairs DJ’s, Hairbrush Pop Idols, Air guitarists and Table Top Drummers everywhere, stand up, your time has come!
Flourish by Explore and Create Limited is a fresh new app which gives you the artistic freedom to make beats and musical compostions on your iPhone or iPod touch.
So how Does it Work?
Well, Flourish represents musical phrases as physical loops, you can record them with the multi-touch keyboards, generate percussive and melodic sequences, build arrangements by ear or by eye, select from a consonant collection of instruments and sequence loops by connecting them in chains.
It sounds complicated but it is so intuitive that its just great fun. It took me a few goes to find my way around the interface but in no time at all I had cracked it and was creating some really impressive sounds. Here is a demo:
Flourish is as exciting and colourful as it is intuitive and fun. The use of multi-touch is nothing short of impressive and coupled with striking visual elements and a slick UI this is definitely one of my favourite music apps so far. I am a fan of the quirky visuals and the unorthodox design, however, the styling may not be to everyones tastes, and if you prefer a more standard approach then maybe FingerBeat from The Elionze Group would be more suitable.
If I had to find a negative (and believe me it was a difficult task) then I’d say this app can be really addictive and despite my enthusiasm, I was given some very funny looks when broadcasting my masterpiece on the train.
There’s a Number 1 Hit Single in everyone, why dont you make yours today?
Flourish is available for $2.99, on the App Store.
